The news came Thursday morning, and it was not surprising news.
Vermilion Parish Office of Emergency Director Becky Broussard got a phone call from a representative from BP about the oil that had washed up on the beach of Chenier au Tigre in Vermilion Parish.
Broussard heard the oil is from the Deepwater Horizon well.
BP is now in charge of cleaning the beaches.
