How many games would we have to win to take the tournament?
How many games would we have to win to take the tournament?
Easy. The teams of the past 8 years have no bearing on this year's team.
Kudos to ASU for playing good ball tonight, getting some good pitching, and timely hits.
The guys just have to do this the hard way from now til Saturday. But hey, the guys have been doing it the hard way since they were 4-8 in conference play. They can still win this thing.

plus they called us Louisiana-Lafayette.....
b* tches....
A new day tommorow. Cajuns play better with their backs to the wall. We have plenty of pitching left to do this.

Cajuns ALWAYS seem to underperform in the Sunbelt tourney esp when it's against ASU. I don't get it. If anyone has the pitching to come out of the loser's bracket it's the Cajuns though.

Exactly. We got beat tonight. Plain and simple. Their guys came out, battled at the plate, and never allowed us to get on a roll. Everytime we scored, they would come back with one of their own. It was tit for tat down the stretch. Yes, take away the one bad inning for Marze, and we win; but that can be said about a lot of baseball outcomes. The two things to be disappointed about last night was the inability to get our leadoff man on, and Marze's inability to minimize the damage. That being said, he's still a young guy, and this was probably the biggest stage he's been on in his college career to date. He'll learn from this, and get better.
Even without the leadoff man reaching, our offense did battle against the best stAte had to offer, and that is encouraging. We lost 1 conference game in 18 chances at the end of the year. I think we can rip off 5 more. (and I'll have something to listen to at work today!)
Im sure its been discussed but I havent seen it yet. But why did we not start our best pitcher? I guess its a short week, but its been at least four or five days. Especially since he is the only pitcher that has a win against ASU this season.
FWIW, the second batter of the ninth inning sure looked like he beat out the throw at first base. There was no replay but he looked safe.
Is there any chance whatsoever we dont make a regional if we lose today?
Cobra, yes it's been discussed...plenty. Zach didn't start because he wasn't ready. Period. Because of the rainout against ULM he had one day less rest than the other #1's. He was still sore yesterday. it's easy to suggest that four days is enough. But Zach has had six days all season. He wasn't ready. And Tony will NEVER ask a guy like Zach to pitch if he's not ready.
And NO. There's no way we miss out on a regional. Even with a loss today.
