Thread: KPEL switch

  1. Default KPEL 105.1 is moving

KPEL 105.1 is moving down the FM dial and up in power. Double the power.

KPEL 105.1 is moving to 96.5 ... soon.

I would recommend moving ESPN 14.20 to 105.1 where it (105.1) will never find a bigger audience.

On the flip side it would be almost impossible for 14.20 to find another format that draws like being the flagship station of University.

Still this is a win, like yesterday for instance when 105.1 broadcast the baseball game. This will double the potential listenership.

On the flip/\flip side I hope this doesn't end the 107.9 broadcast of footall games since 107.9 has a stronger signal than 96.5

    Stay tuned . . . ( is that still a pun?)

Hmm does that mean no more Planet Radio.? Does make too much difference to me since I usually listen to xm for music and 1420 for sports but I'm sure some would be upset if they drop one of the only two rock format stations

Music goes in cycles and hopefully one day soon, rock comes back to the top. Right now there just aren't a whole lot of great rock bands. Way too much terrible pop and rap for sure. I'd get rid of pop first though

Planet and KPEL are switching frequencies. KPEL to 96.5. Planet to 105.1

    Sometime in late June, probably.

Whew! Wouldn't make sense for Planet Radio to disappear since they are having their birthday bonanza in August (I think its August).

Move Planet to the Erath tower, it fits.

  10. Default KPEL switch

I heard today that the 105.1 fm was going to be moved to 96.???? in an effort for more power---Hope we can now get some Cajun sports on the 105.1 station---It is so sad that all the peripheral parishes can't hear the 1420 am light weight---Here is hoping for a good change!!!!!
