FRANKLIN, La. (AP) - Chitimacha Tribe police say the arrest of
rookie New Orleans Saints linebacker and former LSU standout Harry
Coleman stemmed from the player shoving someone out of the way at a
casino.
Chitimacha police chief Blaise Smith says Coleman was leaving a
tribal casino in St. Mary Parish early Sunday when someone,
possibly a football fan, approached him.
Smith says Coleman apparently wasn't amused and shoved the
person. Although no punches were thrown, Smith says the person
filed a complaint and that Coleman cooperated when police told him
they needed to book him on a misdemeanor simple battery charge.
Coleman was released without being jailed and remains with the
Saints this week during scheduled offseason workouts.
