MONROE, La. (AP) - A former Monroe attorney who pleaded guilty
to stealing thousands of dollars from his clients will be sentenced
next month.
Bernard Grenrood pleaded guilty in March to six counts of theft
in excess of $500 and was supposed to have been sentenced Monday.
However, state District Judge Wilson Rambo delayed the sentencing
until June 24 because he wanted to read several letters submitted
to him regarding Grenrood and view a videotaped interview with
Grenrood's wife.
The News-Star reports Grenrood was accused of stealing part of a
family's inheritance in the wake of their father's death in 2003.
