Besides Stokley, Stamps is my favorite Cajun WR.

Fred Stamps has never been on a championship team, so when he looks at some of his teammates' fingers and sees their 2005 Grey Cup rings, he's both envious and motivated to get one for his own finger.
"I've never won a championship," the speedy slotback said Monday, four days after his best game of the young CFL season.
"Maybe in Pop Warner, but nothing like where you have a ring. When I see these guys walking around here with the big rings, that's what I want."

Fred Stamps left an indelible mark on his offence in Friday's 34-31 loss to the B.C. Lions.
The Edmonton Eskimos slotback put up big numbers on the stats sheet, but it was a big effort on a little play that also helped turn things around for the offence.
The drop-itis that had plagued the Eskimos' receiving corps for most of the past two weeks was back like a bad hangover again Friday night as Ricky Ray's first pass -- a three-yarder to slotback Jamaica Rector -- was fumbled away to Lions' defensive tackle Stephen Williams.
Stamps hauled in a six-yard pass for their only other completion of the quarter.
Ray and Stamps connected again in the second quarter on a 40-yard completion after Stamps went above B.C. defensive back Darren Toney to bring down the ball and run into the end zone.
"He's the guy that we're going to try to get balls to," Ray said of the sure-handed Stamps, who finished with nine receptions for 167 yards and a major.

When Fred Stamps first showed up as an Eskimo, it was suggested in this space that it just wasn't right.
It was like Dallas Drake never playing with either Dallas or the Ducks in his NHL career.
Stamps should play for the Stamps, right?
What wasn't considered is that Stamps would play his best games against the Stamps.
In six outings against Calgary, Stamps has caught five touchdown passes so far in his career.
"Sometimes I guess the coaches must have had a game plan to get me the ball," said Stamps.
Any idea that the Eskimos have had a 'Beat The Stamps With Stamps' game plan is news to quarterback Ricky Ray, who will have the pint-sized receiver running routes for him in McMahon Stadium on Friday.

The C.F.L. All-Stars were selected by 62 voters, including members of the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC), C.F.L. head coaches and C.F.L. fans from across the country.
