I've seen him at all of our games. He's still listed on the UFL's LV Locos:

Exactly.....he did not come into the NFL with a pedigree that would make a squad immediately... he will have to earn it through the practice squad... then to special teams... and then hopefully develope in a new position. I think he has the athleticism to do so and just needs the mind set that jake had to stick it out....
Just heard QB Mike Desormeaux signed with CFL's Calgary Stamps.

Talked with Mike today, he will be playing only qb with this team.
Really wish he would play another position. I don't think he can make it as a qb in the NFL, however, I do believe that he can play in the NFL as a WR or S. Would love for him to prove me wrong though!
Spoke with Mike earlier today. He wanted to go after this chance. Calgary owned his rights, so it was the only CFL team with which he could talk. He made the move more for next year than this one.

I sort of like CFL football. They have some quirky rules, like the three downs you mentioned. They have others like, if I am correct, having to field a punt, and the backfield can be in motion prior to the snap. Also, the size of the field is different, they award rouge point, etc.
Takes a little getting accustomed to, which I did when stationed in N Dak, and had opportunities to view Winnipeg games in person.
Talked with Mike last night. Here is more info on his signing:
