What a cynical attempt, on her part, to look like a hero during tough budgetary times!
Her explanation/apology was even better, and in the finest tradition of deadheads caught with their hands in the cookie jar..." I didn't realize I would get all of my accrued sick and leave time as a cash payment..." Uh-huh, and she worked all this out on her kitchen table

It's almost like she misspoke. What a pile of you know what. They all know the rules because they make the rules.

I do not know the number of retire/rehires that have occured over past few years but I would bet the number is staggering. I would think it is mostly in administration positions. Now if they come back as a teacher I would accept that as filling a need. But to rehire at the same job?

These jokers are allowed to do this.....by law mind you, but yet when the economic climate is not sufficient, what is the first thing cut? The actual educational budget for the entire Louisiana college school system. Not these morons and their staggering salaries.

HER BOTTOM LINE THIS PHYSCAL YEAR IS $515,000. HOW MANY CLASSROOM INSTRUCTORS WOULD THIS PAY FOR? DOES ANYONE REALLY BELIEVE THESE POLITICAL HACKS ARE WORTH THIS KIND OF MONEY?

She definitely is not and Jindal should fire her. Jindal has been a huge disappointment in this area. Same old "Louisiana politics" are as bad under his watch as they've ever been and he's done nothing to change it. I did not think he would stand for this kind of thing when I voted for him, but I was wrong. I e-mailed his office and let him know that I thought that his administration would not tolerate this kind of thing. I encourage others to do the same. It amazes me how, once elected, politicians act like no one watches or cares what they do.
