Cajun women finish rugged journey 5-5
BEAUMONT, Texas — Playing 10 straight road games to start a season could be a recipe for disaster, but Louiaiana’s Lady Cajuns have cooked up a different dish.
Coach J. Kelley Hall’s Cajuns finished off that demanding grind at 5-5 here Tuesday night with a commanding 68-44 victory over the Lamar Lady Cardinals.
The impressive win sets the stage for UL to start Sun Belt Conference play at 2 p.m. Saturday against Denver riding a wave of confidence.
“This gives us such a lift,” said junior Anna Petrakova, who paced the Cajuns with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
“We believe in ourselves. We’re ready to start conference play. We know what it takes now, but we also know how good it feels to win.
“Our self-esteem is so much higher now.”

It is nice to see the Lady Cajuns basketball team winning some games. Good luck in conference.
About that 24 pts from Petrakova....she does that every game. I hope folks are showing up to see them play. 5-5 on the road is pretty good.
