Always proud to be a Teurlings Catholic Rebel, but especially proud today as Teurlings claims their 5th state championship in the school's history. First title since 1999.

Took advantage?? They still had to beat 5 teams to win it all, including one of the best teams in any class in the state (and mercy ruled them!!). They also played only 1 home game (1st round) in the tournament.

Not sure you can say they took advantage of the system. They certainly didn't have a cakewalk to the title game.

I said they took care of business. They got a good seed but they passed the gauntlet. To me the Sam Houston game was where they proved themselves big time. West Ouachita was a good win as well. First two rds were sub 500, but the rest of the way was grueling. If the system was seeded better, who knows what happens, they may play a much better team first rd. But all that's hypothetical. They won the most games in the playoffs, that's all that matters

Like Foote says abt the Super Bowl can be said in this case, the team that wins the title game is the champ, but that doesn't mean they're the best team. Just means they won the championship. And that's all people remember in the end. Congrats
