BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Art & Science Museum will
be among befeficiaries of a $904,159 grant from NASA to produce new
planetarium programs and a portable planetarium.
The grant will be spent through a partnership with the Houston
Museum of Natural Science and Rice University and several
production companies during the next three years, Jon Elvert,
planetarium director, said in The Advocate.
The grant will also pay for the development of spacecraft
simulators, software to be used on the Internet, educational videos
and space-themed informational kiosks.
The grant is part of a $7 million program from NASA's
Competitive Program for Science Museums and Planetariums.
