The crude disaster could make Louisiana oysters harder to come by after state health officials closed several oyster beds just as a precaution over oil concerns. That includes oyster beds near Grand Isle, which supplies Shucks Louisiana Seafood House in Abbeville.
Management at Shucks tell KATC that they have about a 2 week supply of Louisiana oysters remaining. If the beds aren't re-opened, they may have to get their oysters elsewhere.
"It's not a matter of getting the product, it's a matter of getting our product, the product that we're used to," said co-owner David Bertrand.
