The Acadia Parish Police Jury will hold a public hearing on a draft ordinance that tracks state law permitting the parish to charge parish inmates for medical and dental bills.
The hearing most likely will be held prior to the Jury meeting in June.
Introduced during Tuesday’s meeting, the ordinance creates a reimbursement schedule for all medical visits and supplies.
The funds will be transferred with the inmates’ drawing account or can be assessed as a condition of release or by court order.
