TUCSON, Ariz. -- Univeristy of Louisiana coach Jessie Evans will face his former boss as the Ragin' Cajuns take on Lute Olson and No. 4 Arizona tonight in the final of the Fiesta Bowl Classic.
Three years ago, the coaches escaped playing each other in the Fiesta Bowl Classic when the Ragin' Cajuns lost to Mississippi State in the first round.
The Ragin' Cajuns earned a date with Arizona by virtue of their first-round win over Valparaiso.
Olson doesn't exactly relish playing Evans.
"I don't think either one of us want to play where one of us is going to lose," Olson said. "But I'm happy for (Evans) that they won that game. I'm happy that we're playing them because he won."
Evans said he is looking forward to face the Wildcats tonight, having missed out on the chance three years ago.
"I figured this is the second time," Evans said, "and if we didn't get it right this time, we weren't coming back again."
Evans said the mere fact that his team is facing Olson's Wildcats is also a sign that "I must be doing something right."
