A Ville Platte family fears the body of a woman found in Evangeline Parish could be their loved one who went missing Monday night. 18 year old Elizebeth Fontenot's burnt out car was found in a field on Pine Point Road in Evangeline Parish, then just hours later the body of a white female was found in an old dairy barn, about a mile away on Dairy Lane.
"We're just waiting to go identify her," said Fontenot's brother-in-law Jody Thrasher.
One of Fontenot's friends told KATC she saw the body, just as investigators arrived on scene.
"That was Elizebeth," said Lonnie Doucet.
"Her shirt was halfway up and nothing on the bottom, her clothes were in a bush nearby," Doucet added.
State Police are handling the investigation. As of Tuesday night, the body had not been positively identified.
