  1. UL Basketball Way to geaux Lady Cajuns (they could be special)

With their 4-5 road record to start the season, and a chance to start the season 5-5 ON THE ROAD, this could be considered the best start in school history. No team has ever had such a rigorous opening schedule.

A better road start has not occurred since 1987-88 when Coach Wilo Colon started the road portion of the season exceptionally strong. That year the Lady Cajuns started 6-2 on the road, but had 7 home games prior to get them ready, and a couple home games interspersed with the road games.

For this team to start the season with 10 STRAIGHT road games and come home with no less than 4 wins is a great sign. A 5-5 start would be huge, and a win against Lamar (at Lamar) on Jan. 6 would do just that.

Either way I think this team just might be special.

I don't think "special" is the correct term. I do see them improving 100% under the new coach and they may get to use the term "special" in a couple of years. I am just anxious to see them at home. I have sat through some miserable performances over the last few years. This team may prove to be a refreshing change.

If you look back it should have been 7-3

I have certainly taken notice. Strength of schedule is similar to the first 9 of last year, with a couple of similar opponents. Closer losses this year in games that were blowouts last year, some quality wins, and a few near upsets. Maybe the term "special" should be applied to Petrakova. She is posting some impressive numbers.
