Lady Cajuns’ road journey ends with solid victory
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Louisiana's Lady Cajuns made 15 free throws in the second half, helping the team to a 62-56 victory over Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon at the Carolina Women’s Challenge.
Louisiana improved to 4-5, while Coastal Carolina fell to 4-4.
The Lady Chanticleers picked-up their seventh foul of the second half with 10:34 remaining in the contest. The Cajuns made 15-of-20 free throws, accounting for nearly fifty percent of their 33 second half points.
UL carried a five-point lead into the second half, and held that lead until a pair of baskets from Anna Petrakova and a layup from Tiffany Washington helped the Cajuns extend their lead to eight, 41-33, with 13 minutes remaining.
