The Vermilion Parish School Board voted 5-3 to increase the Ad Valorem taxes due for tax 2010 year.
Chief Financial Officer Phil Sellers addressed the board presenting the same motion that had been tabled a month ago to increase the current millage rate of 4.51 to 4.65, or an increase of 0.14 mils that will be due at the end of this year when property taxes will be collected again.
This will bring the total millage levied by the School Board up to 39.65 mills between the Special ‘96, Special ‘98 and Constitutional Mills.
