Louisiana hopes to make Mobile second straight victim.
LOUISIANA La. — Louisiana fans saw what can happen when the Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball squad takes defensive chances on the perimeter.
The Cajuns picked off 13 steals and converted more than half of those into easy baskets and dunks Monday in downing McNeese State 76-70 at the Cajundome.
Tonight, they’ll host a less-talented NAIA team that’s averaging nearly 23 turnovers a game against almost exclusively NAIA-level opposition.
Even though the University of Mobile is 8-2 this year, it may be hard for the Cajuns not to be looking past the Rams when the clubs meet at 7:05 p.m. in the final home outing for the Cajun squad until after the New Year.
“I know they’ve won a lot of games over the past few years,” said Cajun coach Jessie Evans of the Rams. “They’re a very solid basketball team.”
