Baton Rouge, La. (AP)-School buses could soon have advertisements tacked to their
sides, if lawmakers agree to a proposal that received approval from
the House Education Committee. The bill (House Bill 1344) by Rep.
Austin Badon, D-New Orleans, would prohibit advertising for alcohol
and tobacco products and political advertising, among other things.
Supporters said other states allow school bus ads to raise money
for school districts. The House hears the bill next.
