Volleyball 2009-10 ???

Just heard one player is transfering, and a scholarship was pulled from a player previously given the award of Freshmen Player of the Year. Seven players have now left the program in a year. I know no one wants to talk bad about the program, but something is not right!!! Unfortunately it really isn't the school, the coach, or the athletic department that gets hurt, it's the players. These girls are amazing individuals with so much going for them and to feel like they have to leave the sport they love and know in order to get some peace really scares me!!!!

One problem is that people continuously come on here and post something about how many girls have left the program but go no further in discussing WHY they are leaving. I've even heard some who question why there isn't more discussed about the departures and what is happening but again, nobody seems to want to give any further info as to what is happening to the team. If these players are leaving, then there should be little apprehension in speaking about WHY they are leaving. I'd love to know if someone is willing to share. Other than that, I don't want to hear it.

What the heck are you talking about the girls badminton team. WHAT team are you talking about.

Complaints were turned into the athletic director and nothing was done. The entire team went with a list of grievances. I think it is a situation where the administration would rather do nothing than listen to the people they are supposed to serve...the student athletes!!!

Well, I hear what you are saying. However, I am one that does not believe that the administration is here to "serve" the athletes. I believe they are here to make sure they are given every opportunity to succeed and, by doing that, also comply with the rules and regulations of this university and work towards a degree. I know Scott Farmer fairly well and also David Walker and having said that I KNOW that they would not jeopardize a student-athletes career or put them in a position that they may not be able to succeed in for no reason. What I am saying is that there is obviously information out there but nobody is willing to share but they make judgments and statements with little to back them up. That is not the same for other sports as it seems that they are fair game to talk about. JMO
