Im close with a few guys on the team, but I would have to be in the locker room to know how the whole team worked together. The main similarity I see is the pitching depth, quality of fielding since we've settled on defensive positions, and pretty good hitting. If you look back Jameson fielded .980 at SS. That is unreal. Allowed us to have 13 cgs as a pitching staff. This team has showed me a lot since 7 errors opening weekend. We have the best pitcher in the belt with a defense firing on all cylinders and I believe they can beat anyone with Zach on the mound. Before this weekend we hadn't really played much talent during our streak but mtsu was a good baseball team. It will come down to two weekends from now against wku. You have to hand it to the guys for putting themselves in this position! We need to fill the tigue againt wku. If we had robichaux like the pitcher he has been the past 3 years we would be scary.

When Hubbel, Parker, and Marze are throwing strikes, I really don't see a weakness in this staff. We've stopped giving teams free bases and I think thats really helped our confidence, and indirectly allowed the defense to relax and do their jobs.

Also, I think Michael Cook returning to his Freshman form has been a huge reason for stability of the staff recently. If Mike keeps rolling come tournament time, he's another option going forward. The exciting thing is all the options that we seem to have here. And the best part is, we're peaking at the right time!

Amen! When the defense shows up, it makes it a lot easier on the pitchers. When I would throw into the 8th or 9th a lot of times it was just throw it down the middle and see if I can get them to hit it to one of our guys and when you have a great defense behind you it makes it that much easier.

Traffica will be very good also. He has hit a few rough patches as of late, but he has the stuff.

It's like I'm watching a completely different team. I love reading the post from Buddy (and other former players) they know what it's like and been around the game a while. I guess to us common folks we should win all the time, but that's the standard the program has set. Hats off to the pitching staff for coming on strong, the position players are getting it done. I take for granted when a ball is hit anywhere around centerfield its going to be caught, KO can cover some ground (even after getting hit by a pitch). The infield is solid, I realize the 09 team set a record for double plays last year but it sure seems the ones we turn this year were in more of a critical situation. At the plate someone seems to always step up and keep the inning alive or make contact with 2 strikes. We've made up some ground but lets keep on winning series, you know UNO will give us all we want this weekend.

Can't say enough about getting Brentz to ground into that double play on Saturday with the sacks jacked. Thats a season changing play right there. I damn near broke some furniture in the house when that happened. Huge moment for these guys.
