My best guess (without knowing exactly how the Cajuns' opponents performance today will affect the calculation) is that the Cajuns move up to #40 or #41 (give or take a spot), depending on whether or not they pass Pittsburgh. They will also move in much closer to the teams in the #35 -> #39 range.

We are tied w/ 38,38,40. Only .001 back of 36,37. Only .002 back of 32,33,34,35. Well you can see how close we are to cracking the 30's.

As I suspected, the Cajuns came in at #41 (they did not pass Pittsburgh, but are close) and are tightly bunched with the teams above them through #36. Later I will have a slightly more accurate version of the RPI (more accurate than Boyd's) that will also have precision to four decimal places. That will show us exactly how tight it is.

Looking forward to it Brian. I love this time of year and I get into all the different teams we are pulling for and against. I stayed up late watching Texas/Baylor game. Texas can really pitch I I would think they may be the early favorites to win it all.

Brain, who do you like right now? Maybe give me the top few teams who you can win it all. Thanks.

Obviously that was somewhat a joke, but I like the way we are playing and I think that with the pitching we have we have a chance to make some noise in a regional.

I am just enjoying it right now.

No, the credit goes to Paul at SEBaseball.com. He just sent me the updated version. I will post here shortly. But UL is tied with New Mexico at #40 with a .5736 Adjusted RPI.

No, I will not be in for WKU. I have a newborn (Preston Michael) ... born last Saturday morning. We will be watching and listening to the broadcast. However, if the Cajuns were to make a regional, we may be making a family trip.

Adjusted RPI through games of Saturday 5/1 ...

    30 0.5808 North Carolina
    31 0.5781 Texas A&M
    32 0.5773 San Diego
    33 0.5772 Florida Atlantic
    34 0.5771 Stanford
    35 0.5769 The Citadel
    36 0.5752 Texas State
    37 0.5752 Pittsburgh
    38 0.5745 Oregon State
    39 0.5739 College of Charleston
    40 0.5736 New Mexico
    41 0.5736 Louisiana-Lafayette
    42 0.5710 Appalachian State
    43 0.5674 UC Irvine
    44 0.5650 Kansas State
    45 0.5647 Texas Tech
    46 0.5640 Western Carolina
    47 0.5640 Tennessee
    48 0.5633 Boston College
    49 0.5632 Liberty
    50 0.5631 Washington
    51 0.5629 Washington State
    52 0.5622 Baylor
    53 0.5620 Southeastern Louisiana
    54 0.5608 Mississippi State
    55 0.5596 Rutgers

As you can see, the Cajuns are tied with New Mexico at .5736. There is not much at all that separates the teams through #36. And even teams like San Diego, Florida Atlantic, Stanford, and The Citadel are potentially a loss away (depending on whom that loss is to) from falling below the Cajuns. Let the scoreboard watching commence.
