Sloppy Cajun women swept in tourney
COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns turned the ball over repeatedly for the second straight game at the Maryland Terrapin Classic, falling 75-60 to Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon.
Sacred Heart led by eight points at the break and extended that lead to 18 points four minutes into the second half. The Pioneers outscored the Cajuns 13-3 in the first four minutes of the second stanza to break open the game.
The Cajuns used an 16-5 run to cut the lead to single digits, 53-46, with 11:29 left in the second half. Morgan Mayon, Kayla Edwards, Nakita Scott and Anna Petrakova all contributed to the outburst.
The Pioneers answered with a 7-1 spurt over the next two minutes to take their advantage back to 14 points.
