Now that Louisiana’s women’s basketball squad has extended a winning streak and broken the season’s first barrier, the Lady Cajuns will try to dig even deeper into the record books this weekend.
The Lady Cajuns, coming off a 57-43 road win over Southeastern Louisiana in Tuesday’s season opener, will take part in Maryland’s Terrapin Classic today and Saturday in College Park, Md.
Louisiana will beet Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-1) at noon today, with host Maryland meeting Sacred Heart (Conn.) immediately after. Winners play at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the consolation game at 11:30 a.m.
The Lady Cajuns won a road season opener for the first time since 2000 on Tuesday and only their second road-opening win since 1988. The last time the squad won two straight on the road to tip off a season was way back in 1983.
