Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow said today that his Crime Suppression Team arrested to mid level drug dealers supplying marijuana to both the east and west side of the City. Chief Gallow states that a Nakelia Laws of the 700 block of South Oak Street and a Brandon Greene of the 100 block of Bullard Street were both selling marijuana in the City of Opelousas and thought they would not be caught but they were mistaken. Mrs. Laws was supplying the area known as the hill with marijuana and has been under investigation for some time. The CST Team gathered enough evidence against Mrs. Laws and executed a search warrant in the early morning hours Wednesday and recovered 29 bags of marijuana. The CST Team has also been watching Mr. Greene for some time and once enough evidence was gathered a search warrant was obtained and executed at his house also on Wednesday in the early morning hours. Mr. Greene had over a pound of marijuana as well as $710.00 in suspected drug money which was seized. Both suspects had the marijuana packaged for sell but they were shut down before this poison could reach the street. The drug dealers need to be aware that their houses will be visited by the CST Team as well as the SWAT team sooner or later if they continue to try to do business in the City of Opelousas.
