The VERMILION MAY 9, 1910 AHTLETICS The Institute Base Ball team visited Broussard Saturday, April 30 and brought back with them the second victory of the season. The game was very interesting at all stages. With Acher on our firing line and Dock Lejeune doing the receiving, the Broussard halters were guessing at all times. Owing to the good support of Curley, Boudreaux, Rivet, and Bordelon, in the infield and Curley and McNaspy in the outfield, at the end of the game the score stood 10 to 15, and just in time to allow our boys to catch No. 9
The Base Ball team gave a lawn party Friday evening under the supervision of Mr. McNaspy. The sold refreshments of all kinds and the total sum made was forty dollars. Everybody had a good time. The team will have new Vermilion suits in a few days. The next game of importance and the biggest hit of the season will be Wednesday, when the Boys High School team of New Orleans meets the S.L.I.I. team on the Institute campus at 3 o'clock. Why not come and help the boys out? They will need some one to root for 'em and it will be worth two or three prices of admission to see this game.
Don't miss it.
