Over the past two months the Hospital Drugs Store in St. Martinville has been broken into three times. In one case, thieves made off with $2,100 worth of oxycodone and hydrocodone.

"We're asking anyone with information about someone out there attempting to or selling these types of prescription pills to give us a phone call," said Todd D'Albor, Chief Administrative Officer for the St. Martinville Police Department.

Nearby surveillance cameras were rolling early Sunday morning as a man ran from the pharmacy, after police say he tried to break in, but woke nearby residents in the process. The man is seen getting into what police say could possibly be a dark-colored Chevrolet Cobalt.

Officer D'Albor says the in all three cases, the suspect or suspects made entry to the pharmacy by smashing into the front door with a blunt object. It's an M.O. similar to a pharmacy burglary this week in St. Landry Parish, now St. Martinville Police are working with St. Landry Parish deputies, to see if the cases are related.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction, if you have any information on this case call St. Martinville Police at 394-3001.
