Yea, but recently it seems like we always lose to them. It feels like we play better against LSU than Tulane. Parrott posted that Tulane has won 5 of the last 7 vs us

Our staff gave up too many free passes. Especially late.
Tulane couldn't get the clutch hit, but it was only a matter of time. They could have easily scored 5-8 runs. (We also lucked out on the bounce on the wild pitch that went right back to Keefer). Again, I thought Cook should have stayed in the game longer, but I understand getting guys reps during the week has improved the bullpen. Tulane played GREAT defense last night, and had a closer that completely dominated the 9th.

They are a better team, they played better, and they won (and they don't have a single Senior in the starting lineup).

We have to get that win last night. No excuses.

Yes ours: Traffica in for Bulliard. Can't get behind the hitters. Gave up a walk on a 3-2 pitch, wild pitch to advance the runner, double on a 3-2 pitch RBI, walk on a 3-2 pitch, single on a 3-1 pitch, RBI. Exit Traffica.......

Well, the Cajuns did win last year in New Orleans, 6-3. Of course, the last five games against Tulane have been played in New Orleans. That makes a real difference.

And as far as losing 5 of the last 7 is concerned, if you go back one more year ... it is 5 of the last 10 (even split) ... with only two of those games played in Lafayette and one at a neutral site (win over Tulane at 2002 NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge).

Exactly. The average D1 ERA is over 5. If you hold someone to 2 runs, you will win most of the time. College kids simply aren't going to pitch shutouts. There are rare exceptions. Tip of the cap and move on down the road.

I have to disagree that Tulane is a better team. Maybe they were slightly better last night.

Traffica had the batter struck out 3 pitches before he got the base hit. Our entire infield started running off the field, but the ump's strike zone just kept changing. But that doesn't excuse the fact that we left 10 on base.

Then say you got a problem with Traffica. What you posted is his line. The freshman did alright, but part of being a freshman is learning to finish guys when you're ahead and not falling behind. Personally, once the guy moved to 2nd, I would have walked Tulane's best player since he was on a full count and hopefully get him the next guy. I certainly wouldnt have given him anything close to hit and that's probably what Traffica tried to do.

Cook could have gone more, Hubbell, Bulliard, and Wascom could have given up runs as easily as Traffica.

All in all, step back and look at the line. We held them to 2 runs in 1 inning on a total of 7 hits (we got 1 run on 7 hits.) Their pitching was better but if you think ours was bad, you should probably take a step back and re-evaluate the situation. This is midweek college baseball. Games dont end up 1-0. Hitting cost us tonight.

You must not have been at the game.. Trust me, Tulane is a better team.

This is true and it does make a difference that we only play in New Orleans for the most part. Its more of a gut feeling for me when we play them, maybe because we are always fairly close in ability. That's a change from nearly all midweek games we have played minus SLU and LSU.

Don't add to my post. I did not say or imply that I had problems with Traffica. My entire post was about pitchers getting behind the hitters. He was on the hill when things happen. Could have been anybody. I am just saying that you can't get behind hitters. If you don't agree just say getting behind is not a problem.......

I watched the entire game. Trust me, I can formulate my own opinion without your help.
