The Ragin' Cajuns hit the road tonight for a non conference game at Tulane. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM in New Orleans.
The Cajuns have won 11 of their last 12 games and are 12-3 in April.
Another One to Check Off: Sunday's win over Le Moyne captured the weekend series - Louisiana's third consecutive weekend with a series victory.
The Home Stretch: Last week's midweek game with McNeese State began a stretch in which the final 20 regular season games are played in the State of Louisiana. UL won't leave the state until May 26-29 for the Sun Belt Tournament.
Midweek Warriors: Beginning with Tulane, the final three midweek games will be played on the road.
Tulane Series (UL leads 43-39): Louisiana and Tulane meet at Turchin Stadium for the third straight season. Series resumed in 2007 (met at Zephyr Field) after a brief hiatus following the 2004 campaign; prior to that the two programs had met each season from 1983-2004. The Cajuns hold a 43-39 lead, overall. Series is tied 12-12 in the Robichaux Era. Tulane has had the most recent success, claiming four of the last six meetings. Last season the Cajuns posted a 6-3 win on April 7, halting Tulane's three-game series win streak.
Quick Reset: Louisiana made a third straight weekend with a series victory by taking two-of-three from Le Moyne in a non-conference series. In the opener, UL scored eight runs over the first four innings and Zach Osborne held Le Moyne scoreless and allowed only two hits over his final 5 2/3 innings. Behind a career-high five RBI from Alex Fuselier the Cajuns won 13-2. A Chris Edmondson sacrifice fly in the ninth inning gave Le Moyne a 6-5 win on Saturday, snapping the Cajuns 10-game win streak. UL scored five times in the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday to rally from a 4-3 deficit and claim the victory. Tyler Frederick singled home the tying run and scored the go-ahead on a throwing error. Three consecutive two-out hits plated three additional runs as the Cajuns pulled away.
On the Verge: Louisiana is only four wins shy of assuring a winning record for the 2010 season.
The Power Surge: Chad Keefer and Jordan Poirrier - hitting in the three and four spot in the lineup - have combined for 104 base hits of which 22 are doubles and 16 home runs and they have combined to drive in 78 runs.
You Don't See This Often: With T.J. Geith lowering his ERA to 4.95 on Sunday, every Cajuns pitcher on the roster now has an ERA below 5.00.
Olasin Joins the Party: Following the Le Moyne series Kyle Olasin raised his batting average to .307 - the seventh Cajuns starter with an average .300 or above.
