Kaplan - Officer fires at suspect who tries to run him over
A Kaplan officer fired shots at a suspect who tried to run him over with his vehicle.
Robert Senegal, 25, of 100 Briar Street, Youngsville, (formerly of Kaplan) was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer.
Last Saturday, a Kaplan narcotic’s officer received an anonymous tip about drug activity at a local motel.
A surveillance was set up after verifying the suspect was indeed at the motel.
When a possible drug deal was being witnessed in the parking lot, officers began approaching the suspect.
