They get a bit too aggressive on the base paths in my opinion. I didnt think Bowers could make it to home from 2nd based on how shallow the ball was fielded. If that had been Gaspard or Meyers its an easy score, however in a situation that close every step counts, nothing against Bowers, but her speed isnt like Gaspard or Meyers when it comes to simply flying across the base paths.

I think we need Baserunning 101.

They've always had a very aggressive mentality in everything, however sometimes they look like they are trying to force things too much. For instance, if Bowers scores, the call looks great and gutsy, if she doesn't... well, there are discussions like these lol

I have faith in the Lotiefs, they are both very good coaches. Right now they have some new coaches who they are also having to "coach" and grow, I am confident in them and their staff, they just have some growing pains right now and sometimes it can make us fans uneasy.

Who are these NEW coaches? Chris Malveaux is the assistant, he was a volunteer here last year and at McNeese for about five years before that. He was even the HEAD COACH at McNeese. What an insult to him! Of course, I know you never stop learning, neither should Mike and Stefni. But, Coach Chris is not new. You said coaches is there another coach that is a ghost at the games and at practice? Where? Where? I AM confused. Please clue me in.

I was able to get the video feed. That guy doing the commentary does sound like he's about half-dead. Glad to see Soria get the start today.

As far as coaches, there are not coaches outside of the Lotiefs and Malv. My brain is running on auto-pilot from a long week of work (had to work this morning too... bleh) and when I was typing it, it sounded like it made sense in my head, anyway...

As you know, Malveaux is "new" and young. Not to say he doesn't have experience or doesn't have some very nice credentials, however his knowledge is still limited and he still is growing a ton as a coach. He has also had new duties put upon him this season. Yes he did volunteer with the Cajuns last season, but in one season he cant be expected to grasp the Cajuns system and he is also having to do new things this season such as work with the pitch calling. Just because he has past coaching experience doesn't mean he is going to just come in and know what to do. You can see his improvement and growth as a coach as his time on the staff has progressed.

Malveaux still has big shoes to fill considering the impact Joy Webre had for the Cajuns coaching staff. Replacing her is not easy, and its going to take time before her experience and knowledge can be matched by anyone set to be her replacement. Webre was a natural and we all are fully aware of her impact, the jury is still out on Coach Malveaux.

I think you're comments are well founded. The pitch calling has been suspect. As for game 2 today, I still think the LOBs are going to come back to haunt us, 2 more in the 1st. I was surprised to see Troy score on such a short fly ball, thought Vallie should have thrown her out.

LOB will always come back to haunt you.

Bourgeois is getting roughed up a lot this season.

Yeah, they try to make excuses, but she's nowhere near the pitcher she was last year, maybe some type of injury. We've also got to make a change at first base, Gabby' s a good hitter but a liability at 1st.

I haven't heard anything from anyone about an injury. Everything about her being injured is here say and speculation. The only thing I can say for a fact is she's not hitting her spots the way she did last season... the list for what could cause that is endless.

edit: cant leave runners on base in this situation... 2 on, nobody out... and the power of the order up...

edit2: bases loaded, no one out... Bowers up...

edit3: bases loaded, 1 out... Soria up...

edit4: Soria reaches on fielders choice; Soria hits in game tying RBI... 2 outs... Cormier up

edit5: Cormier popped out to 2b. Cajuns score only one run in a bases loaded no out situation...

Only 1 run out of that, unbelievable. I still don't understand why the slappers bat one after the other in the order. How many more fat pitches is Donna gonna serve up to that same hitter? Doesn't make sense with 2 outs and nobody on.

My biggest and most mind boggling concern is I want to know is where did the clutch hitting go? It used to be game over if the Cajuns had a bases loaded no-out situation, now they struggle to just push 1 across...

And crap, Donna B is really getting lit up this year.

edit: Leadoff single + sacrifice bunt puts a Cajun runner on 2nd with 1 out... Gaspard up

edit2: Gaspard lines into double play...

edit3: Only pushing one across in a bases loaded + no out situation is going to more then likely cost the Cajuns this game
