Thread: 2003-04 Confidence Factor

  1. UL Basketball PLAY Confidence Factor

    Confidence Factor Rules

All you have to do is state how confident you are of a Ragin' Cajun victory.
  2. When the Cajuns win you get your confidence points.
  3. When they lose you get your lack of confidence points.

By stating how confident you are, we know both.

For example; in the first game of the season UL is playing Georgia Tech, if you are 95% sure of a victory simply post how confident you are. If the Cajuns win you get 95 points, if they lose you get 5 points.

The stipulations are (for the first 19 games of the season) you must make your choices in 5% increments, and you must use every 5 point increment only once. No 0% or 100% till you run the table. See graph below.

Once you use every 5% increment, you can free for all the remainder of the games. "Free for all" means you can go 100% for every game the rest of the way or if the season isn't looking good you can go 0% as often as you like, or you can go any where you wish with your confidence factor.
To give you an example of how the game will look, Butch (whom I work with, and last years winner) has told me he is only 5% confident of a victory over Georgia Tech. Obviously he is predicting a loss, so if the Cajuns lose he will get 95 points if they win he gets 5 points. I on the other hand and a little more optimistic but still am not predicting a victory I have a 35% confidence factor.

If the Cajuns win the score will look like this.

Butch cannot use 5% and I cannot use 35% again till we run the table. Each week the list will be posted so you will know what you can and cannot use.
