Ok now 2's and 3's can rebound but that is not a 2's primary goal. Ours are not agressive types but Travis and Chris did get rebounds. The problem lies in the 4's and 5's. The only 4'a we had where Tyren and Lamar and 5's were Colby and Javan. Now we have no 4's and picked up a 4/5. We need a dominate 4 if nothing else.

My opinion was whether Dison and/or Gary would play HERE again. I agree that Gary could possibly contribute 10-14 minutes per game off the bench. But the bottom line is it's up to Marlin and whether he believes it's worth keeping Gary on scholarship one more year or going with a 100 percent healthy newcomer.

Personally, I'd like to see Gary come back because he's a hard worker and was the heart and soul of the team two years ago before getting hurt.

Well if the 2s are not going to rebound. Lee shot himself in the foot by playing gradnigo, bureau, and daigle at the same time because they were not committed to rebound at either end of the floor. At somepoint one of the taller 2s has to play like a 3 and provide rebounding support. If gary can contribute he definitely will help on the boards as a 3.

Chaucy I know you mean well but let's look at numbers Tyren lead team in rebounds (239) second was Colby was second (111) then Chris (104) Travis (96) and Randell (84). So like I said we need to replace a strong 4 man to rebound and our 5 need to rebound way more. We need another big man. We did get rebounds from 2's and 3's. We got beat rebounding all season due to our big men not dominating and Colby being in foul trouble kept his minutes limited . We are bringing in farrington for a 4/5 but everyone else are guards.

Dwayne Mitchell, Laurie Bridge and others were incredible rebounders from the guard spot. As was Tiras Wade. While agree with you that we need another big, I think we can get way more from Chris and Travis. They are too long and athletic not to be getting more.

My point was Chris and Travis had the same rebounds as Colby and three of the top 5 on the team were our 2-3 guards. We lose Tyren who lead us and pick up Farrington ok let's just hope he picks up where tyren left off. We still hAve Colby and Javan as our bigs. My point again if we are talking rebounds we need a another dominate big!

Everybody's primary goal better be to rebound the ball (ON DEFENSE) and 2-5 better rebound it on the offensive end or you will have ZERO CHANCE. JMO.

With an emphasis on fundamentals, you will hopefully see everybody rebounding the ball much better. Rebounding is fundamentals and attitude. The 2's and 3's we have should be able to adequately help out on the boards if they play fundamentally sound basketball and give the effort.

Again everyone is missing the point our 2-3 were rebounding. In fact as well as our 5. What part is getting past you all. We lost Tyren who was our best rebounder. Now as I said early on we were out rebounded last year and it hurt us. Now for simplicity we need a dominate big man period. They recruited enough guards. Get another dominate big man that is what we need. Great our guards can refine rebounding skills but the PRIMARY job of 4-5 are to CONTROL the paint and boards and we did not do that at all last year and it cost us!

Why is everyone so obsessed with having another big man? I believe I seen a team make it to the final 4 this year in Butler who had one good big man. Sure big men or nice but it is not like you have to have a whole stable of big men to win.

Agreed. Brian Hamilton was about the best 4 man we have had in the past ten years. And he was 6'5" and probably weighed 180.

Hence my arguments about guys playing harder. If someone thinks they are playing hard, they should put in a Brian Hamilton tape.

    Brian Hamilton Highlights

Terrible quality. Note at about 40 seconds against WKU he hustles back blocks a shot then finishes the same possession with another block.
