Thread: Basketball Recruiting update

    Default Basketball Recruiting update

It appears that the Riley kid from the juco in South Carolina has signed with either South Carolina State or Kennesaw State reported by JucoJunction. Do we have any scholarships left? Is Courtney Wallace playing next year if he is awarded a medical redshirt?

They are still working a few, don't have the names.

My blog from early, early this morning:

USC Salkehatchie coach Travis Garrett told jucojunction.com Thursday that Riley has signed with South Carolina State.

Just confirmed with Garrett. Riley wanted to stay close to home to his family.

Still want see another big man. I know Matlin is used to running a 3 guard set but that my be because he was in the Southland that has few dominate big men. We know the Sunbelt typically has teams with 1-2 dominate big men along with good guards. We got beat all year on the boards and second chance scoring. Just my opinion.

We got beat on the boards because all of the 2 or 3s that are so "athletic and long" are trying to score and no one is hitting the glass. You have to be committed to rebound, its a choice!

In Josh's blog, he states he would be shocked if either Gary or Dison played again. Not surprising about Dison as he has to have surgery once more. However not everyone shares Josh's opinion about Gary. Coach Marlin told another media member that Gary looked good in the individual workouts. That person who was told this believes Gary may be able to help for 10 to 12 minutes per game next season.

I was told the same thing, so it will be interesting. Le'Ryan has been working out hard and he feels he can play. No one can know for sure if his body can handle to grind of a full season.
