LOUISIANA La. -- A familiar face will help give the University of Louisiana at Lafayette a different look tonight when the Cajuns play their final preseason exhibition.

Former ULL guard Kenneth Lawrence is the point guard for the Arkansas Angels, the AAU team the Cajuns play at the Cajundome at 7:05 p.m. today.

The ULL men's game will follow the Lady Cajuns, who host the Jackson Babes at 4:45 p.m.

Lawrence started for most of his four seasons at ULL and is now back in his hometown of Little Rock, Ark., Cajuns coach Jessie Evans said.

"Kenny's trying to get some looks from the pro scouts by playing in exhibition contests," Evans said. "I think he has a chance to get picked up by a CBA team or perhaps in Europe, if everything works out.

"(Lawrence) has the speed that it takes to be a pro player; he just needs to make some better decisions."

ULL opened the preseason last Thursday night by beating Division II Delta State 94-69 at the Cajundome.

Evans said the Angels offer a different kind of challenge.
