Fiber Fête kicked off Tuesday at Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) in Lafayette. The conference has brought internet innovators from across the country and the world to Lafayette for three days of discussion and learning.
While many of the invited guests have never been to Acadiana, they've certainly heard of Lafayette.
"Cities around the U.S. are looking to Lafayette for true leadership and the real heroism this community showed in getting this fiber built and knowing that this is the future for our jobs, communications, schools, healthcare, we just can't say enough about what you've done here," said David Olson, cable director for the City of Portland, OR.
Fiber Fête runs through Thursday. The conferene will be streamed live here from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, April 21.
