Abbeville - Sales Tax ends on positive note in February

Finally – after at least six months of declining sales tax dollars – the skid may be over based on February’s sales tax return.
The School Board, Police Jury and Sheriff’s Office have experienced at least a 15 to 20 percent decline in sales tax revenue over the last six months.
In February, however, the news is positive.
The School Board and Police Jury each had a five percent increase from a year ago.
The Sheriff’s Office remained about the same from a year.
