The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns scored 13 runs over a four-inning stretch and overcame an early three-run deficit to defeat Grambling, 15-7, Tuesday evening at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
Murphy Brooks (1-0), making his first appearance on the mound since June 2, 2024, earned the win after tossing 1.2 innings. He allowed only a bunt single and struck out two, throwing 17 pitches with 11 for strikes. JR Tollett pitched the final three innings, allowing one unearned run to record his first save of the season.
Louisiana (23-17) finished with 13 hits, marking its fourth consecutive game with double-digit hits. Mark Collins, Maddox Mandino, Blaze Rodriguez and Steven Spalitta each recorded two hits, with Spalitta driving in three runs on a double and a triple.
