Turbine said he would like the influx of cash, regardless of whether the athletic programs become more successful. I guess money is money to some people.

And worst of all, Esqueleto proved my point, openly admitting that he would be okay with losing every single game and/or finishing dead last in the conference as long as he got to be included with all of the big name schools. That's just an absurd thing to say about your university's athletic programs.
The "regardless" comment is yours, and yours alone.
I said "better finances is a "benefit""
That benefit isn't just sitting on an excel sheet ledger in the cloud. It would presumably extend across the board.
Better finances, better exposure, better hiring, better nutrition, better recruiting. Better overall program.
All leading to being competitive in their new environment.
Unless someone disagrees with that, I don't know how many more comments you would expect in that regard.
