Old softball memory and a question

I remember what I think was a post season game (back when Coach Lotief was at the helm) where runners were placed on second base to start the extra inning.

I even remember his post game interview where he said you should always be able to score when you start at second with no outs.

Problem is everything I look up says this is not an option in the NCAA.

I did find

International / Olympic Softball (WBSC Rules)

Beginning in the 8th inning, the offense starts with:
- Runner on second base
- No outs
- Next scheduled batter at the plate

The runner is the last completed batter from the previous inning.

I even found a page that says this International / Olympic Softball WBSC Rule has never occurred in NCAA history.

So where am I getting this Louisiana/Lotief softball memory from?

Never play international rules in the postseason, however we have have played in season tournaments in the past where they do institute the runner at second in extra innings, and maybe that is what you are remembering.

Can you also explain what happened when Smith was pinch run for by Ardoin, then made to return to 3rd base?
