I remember what I think was a post season game (back when Coach Lotief was at the helm) where runners were placed on second base to start the extra inning.
I even remember his post game interview where he said you should always be able to score when you start at second with no outs.
Problem is everything I look up says this is not an option in the NCAA.
I did findI even found a page that says this International / Olympic Softball WBSC Rule has never occurred in NCAA history.International / Olympic Softball (WBSC Rules)
Beginning in the 8th inning, the offense starts with:
- Runner on second base
- No outs
- Next scheduled batter at the plate
The runner is the last completed batter from the previous inning.
So where am I getting this Louisiana/Lotief softball memory from?
