I will bet the farm on this one thing. You will never see Johnny Paz working any games at the WCWS. Horrible umpire with a horrible strike zone. How he missed that foul ball call in the first inning was beyond me. That ball clearly crossed over the foul line way before reaching the 3rd base bag.

Last night's game was about LSU making a statement against UL in my opinion. There was no reason for Beth to throw Heavner in a mid-week game other than trying to beat down the Cajuns. With LSU throwing their No. 1, they were telling the Cajuns they were playing to beat them down and show who the big sister is in regard to softball in Louisiana. The majority of UL batters were simply overwhelmed by a pitcher consistently throwing 68-70 mph. If there was any game that UL should have tried the small ball game, it was this one.

As much as I detest her small ball approach in majority of in game situations, I totally agree this was the situation to try and get things started. But having said that, we were down 6 going into bottom of 3rd inning and you are not coming back from that deficit playing small ball with our lack of pitching and timely hitting.

I agreed with everything she said in that interview. At some point, you have to play up to your potential . I see 2 players doing that . Kennedy and Hart .

You forgot Otto and Liscano. Both of these players have stepped up big time.

I listened to the game last night. it was 4 to 0 (I think) the count to an LSU patter was 3 and 2. The next pitch was an obvious strike the was called a ball (if called correctly the inning would have been over ) the next pitch was a ball but the batter swung at it and hit a 2 run home run. Those two runs were on the Ump. And that pretty much sums up the game and for that matter the entire season. It has been disappointing for sure.

I sit right behind home plate. There is zero doubt that pitch was a strike. If there were 2500 people there, 2499 of them, including Sage, Kennedy and the LSU hitter thought that pitch was a strike. Unfortunately, the 1/2500 of the people who saw it live and thought it was a ball was the home plate umpire.

She broke every rule of head coaching in that interview. She never took responsibility for anything. She blamed players for being unprepared. She said "they" have to do better, never "we" or "I" have to do better. Kids do not want to play for a coach like that. The result of a head coach having her attitude is players not being their best selves.

I think this is piling on a little honestly. She has tried to take the high road in the press conferences I have seen but last night was different.

This team should not be rolled like that. I do not think they have quit but they are clearly beaten down.

There is clearly validity to the posts about leadership. How adversity is handled shows the character of a team and coaching staff.

The next two weekends will show a lot.

Everything that she said in the interview was told to the players in many occasions this season. But is hasn’t worked. So now it’s on the players from here on. I promise you. bear Bryant in today’s game would feel the same as Aly.
