The reason for inconsistent hitting is lack of overall talent. There is talent on the squad but not enough of it compared to top SBC schools. Yesterday USM did not care how many they walk ed or hit. They figured Cajuns would not be able to get the big hit and they were right.

With how well we started, paired with probably being able to avoid Baton Rouge in a regional, they had the setup for something special. As others have said there's still time to put together a run, but it will be very difficult to maintain it if we can't hit the ball consistently.

Not every regional sells out like LSU.

At this point if they do well enough to host a regional that means they are firing on all cylinders by tournament time..

Counting on them to have 3 errors and a half dozen wild pitches is pretty foolish

Have you watched them other than the game against the Cajuns? They aren’t very good and the things you mentioned are things they do quite a bit.

My original point was that we could avoid an LSU regional.. If they were to be a host, it would mean that they've corrected those issues and managed to drag their RPI from the 30-40s to the teens

Nobody should want to play them in the postseason, in their house, if theyre on a heater like that

Would not bet on State making the tournament. Schedule is soft down the stretch, but they have some horrific losses. Bethune Cookman for one. At home.
