Green Bay Packers host 125-tackle linebacker for top-30 visit ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft
They don't have the volume of a lot of P4 schools but have had quite a few players with very successful NFL careers. Brian Mitchell, Jake Delhomme, Orlando Thomas, Brandon Stokley, Rafael Septien, Charles Tillman, Tracy Walker, Todd Scott, Anthony Clement, Ike Taylor, Ladarius Green, Percy Butler, Robert Hunt and Kevin Dotson achieved success at the NFL level. Plus, there are others who played in the NFL and others that are still playing that are trying to make their mark.
I might be misunderstanding you, but it sounds like you are trying to say that NFL teams should prefer UL's players over and above bigger programs' players simply because there is less of a risk that a UL player would be an "overhyped flop."
Again, that might not be what you're saying, but if so...that's bonkers.
I actually think this is the beauty of the NFL. Someone like Dalen Cambre can work hard and earn a spot on a roster while other big name players may get cut. NFL players come from all sorts of schools, and that's cool.
My point is that if you're just looking the odds, it is more likely that a player from a big time school will succeed rather than a player from a smaller school. So I don't blame NFL teams for trusting big schools more than small schools.
