The coach said the team has standards and accountability. It's obvious that those are not being meet. Consequences should follow next, like at any other job, so what do you recommend them be? What actions should be taken against the staff? Who do you hold responsible? Go ahead we would love to hear your take.
Charlotte softball. The coach left, took all 3 assistant coaches, the director of opps, 9 players and her recruits to South Carolina. What great talent has Alyson brought in from the portal? The budget crisis didn't stop them from raising a million plus for locker room renovations.
It seemed there was a nice Ragin Cajun crowd in Monroe for the series. The people in the crowd have been supporting the team at away games for many years. Up until last year, it had been 13 years since those fans witnessed the Cajuns lose a series on the road. Now, they have witnessed the Cajuns get swept on the road in an SBC series.
One of the away series most attended by Cajuns in years past, has been the series against South Alabama. As stated by other posters, only the top 10 teams get into the tournament. If the Cajuns don't start winning now, the series may determine whether or not the Cajuns get in. It will be interesting to see how many fans show up for that series this year.
I would first give the current staff more than 1.5 years to build something. Next year yes pressure should be felt. It is no different than giving Moore time to build the Saints. If there is no improvement at THIS time next year then yes you may have a point. You asked who they brought in, I would say Marceaux, Hart, Watts, Manning, and Knox all have talent and are big contributors and hopefully will be in the future. Again as I see it the only experience out on the field consistently is William’s and Liscano who are juniors and played last year. Sissy has some but missed most of last year as did Otto and the pitchers. You have freshman starting in left, right, and 1st. This inexperienced lineup could have SOMETHING to do with inconsistent play. Not everything but some. On top of this they are learning new hitting techniques from a new coach, and new pitching from a new coach. No different than bringing in new coordinators and schemes in other sports. Lastly Nobody wants to lose and I am sure the team is down right now. I just think with all the negative a little common grace for the overall picture and not coaching, bunting etc. should be given when REBUILDING a program.
Lastly I was talking about what other UL coach has faced what AH has had to endure her first 1.5 years? As far as the program you mentioned I have no clue and apples to oranges.
You asked who they brought in, I would say Marceaux, Hart, Watts, Manning, and Knox all have talent and are big contributors and hopefully will be in the future.....Only one of these players came from the portal and that player was coming back no matter what. So once again what great portal player did we get? Two of the five you mentioned are not big contributors at all. Not sure what game you are watching.
Williams actually has the least overall experience of any player. She was a walk on, only played high school ball.
Cissy is a four year starter so last seasons injury doesn't mean much. She missed the last few weeks, not most of the season.
Which freshman has started at 1B?
Most of the hitting techniques are bunts.
Most of what you are saying you have no clue.
This isn't a place for a head coach to get on the job training.
Again I am just wanting whoever on the team that reads this to know that you are supported and we do have your backs. The negative comments are coming from fans who truly want you to succeed they just handle their frustration differently than others which is ok. In the end we all want what is best for the team, the players, the program!
Did William’s play all last year? Yep muzzled
I meant a Sophomore in Emily when she plays at first.
Was the 5 named brought here under AH? Yep muzzled regardless coming home are not KM is here under AH.
KM is starting catcher, Knox starting RF, Manning starting 1st (along with Emily at times), Hart starting LF, and Watts pinch runs and pinch hits. I seem to remember Watts hitting a HR, stealing base, hitting runs in. Again muzzled stats show they have all contributed at one time or another.
Most of the hitting is bunts???WTF are you watching? They bunt maybe 3-4 times a game, the most being seven but I am sure in your mind it is every batter lol!
What is your definition of contributing? Being a starter but just standing there. Not sure if you know but defense is a skill they can contribute in, not just hitting or bunting.
Our athletic program ain’t spending money on a new head baseball or softball coach in the next three years unless they themselves leave.
