Holla back atcha boy when you gots a cool million to throw at a pitcher.
Not exactly accurate. Most of the discussion has not been about getting to the WCWS, it has been about not being competitive in the SBC; for which the only conclusion has to be that we have a coaching failure at one or more levels. That has nothing to do with money, as all the SBC teams are in the same boat as we are.

Most of the issues are coaching issues up to this point.

There is plenty of money in South Louisiana, I would also include greater Houston area, if Maggard and his crack marketing/fund raising dept would get off their behinds( providing we had qualified people) to get us near top of G5 peers to be competitive. I am so tired of the Authement culture of can't. Either get off their butts or just pack it in and quit pretending. But I guess that means they would have to hustle year in and year out and quit sucking up to their select big donors.

It use to be baseball and softball was 2 sports most UL fans could be proud of and count on to get us through the dismal football and basketball seasons from years past. Now, UL has ZERO sports capable of competing for a SBC with the current status quo. Something has to change and that might include a dumpster fire for the whole athletic department.

What to do next??? I read quotes on this forum and see a lot of unhappy people. I am not sure what the answer will be; maybe someone with a lot more brain power can come up with a game plan that the G5 schools can use for success as they navigate the transfer portal, multi millionaire athletes, a pot of gold to pay the players, other schools contacting your own players during the season and try to get them to transfer (tampering), and so on. All of this disarray reminds me of the Wild West, but as all things must finally come to an end!!

A starting point would be gearing multiple game to kids and families. Try to tap into the younger generation before it is too late. Just spit balling but a kids tailgate area with fun jumps, face painting, cotton candy, fun game type activities. Just a thought!
Secondly have sponsor nights where the sponsors are treated special somehow to hopefully build more rapport and give them bigger bang for their bucks!
Do a wine or beer tasting night at the parks to help sponsors or gain new ones while adult Cajun fans can enjoy their products. Yall may laugh but spoil the fans who donate like (I know contracts would crush this) but have restraints set up VIP areas for table service maybe have a wine expert there offering matches and choices. We pride ourself on food yet serve ____! I am sure local restaurants/food trucks would love a foodie night.
Try to get students in…ex get 15% off at the bookstore with a ticket, free food with a ticket, see if the university could set up a bonus point system for games attended. Have Greek nights where they compete during breaks for prizes…ie Revenge of the Nerds Greek games on a smaller scale. Have ladies night where they get a free drink or ticket for the game, watch the guys follow like ladies night at bars.
Do a date night where with your ticket you get a flower and drinks/or meal or whatever. On adult nights offer free kid sitting where they can show a movie and play games on the unused fields…hell anything!

You might be young. There was a time I recall being at CF just waiting on MBB. SB wasn’t even on the radar and baseball was meh.

Kinda a wash, rinse, repeat for the athletics department.
