Time for a change?

ULM sweeps UL in a conference softball series, let that sink in. That is a whole new level of low for this program. The whole coaching staff should be embarrassed and not allowed to get back on the bus. Habetz turned down a head coaching job not once, but twice during her career. Everyone can see why she never wanted to be a head coach. Maggard had to talk her into taking this job. I know she is very religious, but she missed read her sign to be the head coach of this team. It is very obvious she has pride, she has work ethic, she has some knowledge, but she doesn't have the know how or ability to run a program. This program needs a total reset. The top two coaches on staff have failed as head coaches and neither of them specialize in any area. The lack of leadership from the staff is very apparent. Last week I pointed out the laughing in the circle and was told that all girls do that on all teams. Well when Brady makes visits to the circle I don't see anyone laughing. Some players are given 10 miles of rope and others are giving 6 inches. This team needs a head coach with previous head coaching experience that specializes in hitting or pitching, preferably a male with a mouth piece. Hopefully at the Monday presser we don't hear the everytime someone plays us it's their world series, superbowl, final four type bull____. Some of this blame can be put on the administration as both baseball and softball carried the department for many years. We have been season ticket holders since 1997 and this off season I will have to really see some sort of progress from this program before I commit to watching this style of play again.The staff always talks about the standard and the culture, well the standards aren't being meet so there needs to be consequences and that starts with the staff.

Very well said. Nailed it!!! The school won’t make changes, they’re broke. They did save money by not having ice for drinks at the concession stand. 🤦🏻_♂️

I agree with most of this except the new head coach has to be male. The person has to be a vocal leader with talent for recruiting and coaching.

Some of yall have dillusions of grandeur. It has been 12 years since this program made the World Series. We have not been this “powerhouse” in 12 years. The coach took over a team decimated by money and the former plug Head Coach. She has been here for 1, let me say this again 1, really full transfer portal, and 1 full recruiting season in which she brought in some talent. The team is still relatively young, and she is faced with a fn budget crisis. A budget crisis in a time when college sports is about money and nothing else. Name another coach who faced that??? The threats on here that I am not gonna get tickets support this program etc etc is old. If you let this make you that unhappy then poo or get off the pot because you are becoming tiresome. This is not directed at any individual but a collective few.

I’m not at the change coaching stage. It’s tough to coach and there is a learning curve and I’m willing to be patient. It’s just hard to accept in such a short time the fall of this program and I don’t put that all on the staff. However, I do expect us to not be in last place in the Sunbelt. That should never happen

When a head coach leaves for a P4 that has money with the players he wants to bring and the ability of the incoming coach to recruit changes so much because of the state of the things, what else do you expect . . .

I didn't say they next head coach had to be a male it is just my preference.
