Troy, hits a two-run homer in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Marceaux leads off the first inning with a hit. She eventually gets to third base. Then, a bunt is put down. Marceaux gets in a rundown and gets thrown out. Cajuns end up not scoring. Ugh!

That’s how it’s gone. For 1.5 seasons.

Feel like Glasco had the same issues. Baserunning, leaving early, sending runners home in inopportune times. But he had a lot on the roster that could overcome that.

It's really apparent now with this version of Cajun softball, though. The margin for error is much, much smaller. If it exists at all.

It was not a bunt attempt. It was a delayed steal attempt when the catcher threw to the shortstop cutoff on a straight steal of second, and Habetz sent Marceaux to home and the SS had her dead. That delayed steal play has not worked in 50 years at any level above 12 and under.
