KLFY’s Beyond the Jersey featured Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns freshman shortstop Blaze Rodriguez who has earned some high praise from head coach Matt Deggs.

Deggs compared the newcomer during the team’s 2026 media day to former Sun Belt Player of the Year and All-American Kyle DeBarge, calling Rodriguez one of the best freshman shortstops he has seen.

Rodriguez has started all 28 games this season
