I was wondering the same thing. I was very suppised when he got in the game Sat night. Lane doesnt get much playing time at QB. I thought it was odd that Roussell was put in the game.

When Roussell came into the game Saturday night I did not know who he was. Does anyone know what high school he graduated from or any other info.?

He is the son of Butch Roussell who played QB for UL in the mid sixties. I think he is from somewhere in the New Orleans area??

In about 1964/1965 Butch Sr. was the Cajun quarterback. I remember in one game Coach Faulkinberry called a time out. Butch came over to the sideline, lit up a cigarette and smoked it while getting his instructions. He then flicked it to the ground, put it out with his foot, and returned to the field with smoke coming from his helment. (Actually, Jim Barton told me this story. I was there, but only 6 years old)

Not true about the cig. on the sidelines. He did get knocked out by Glen Lefleur when he played 1 year at La. College. Coach Blanco ran on the field and told him to get up. Next year he was back at UL. LIl Butch played at STA in Hammond. He is more like 6'3'' and 205 lbs.

Butch Roussell is from St Thomas Aquinas high school in Hammond. He's actually 6'3" 210. He was all district in football and basketball. His sister, Ashley, was on the UL vollyball team and his dad was QB for the Cajuns in the 1960's. Butch was redshirted last season, along with Babb. He's a great kid who will help the team along the way.
